About
Hi, I'm Syd

I'm a full-time artist on the North Shore of Oahu, and NiNi Boards is where everything I love about this place ends up: the flowers, the shells, the ocean, and the old surfboards I paint them on.
Every piece starts as a used board that's already seen some waves. I sand it, lay down the base color, trace the design, and paint the whole thing by hand, one board at a time. When it's done, it's a one-of-a-kind piece you can lean against a wall, hang in a room, or give to someone who loves the ocean.
What I love painting
Hibiscus, plumeria, monstera, crown flowers, and leis. Hebrew cone shells and miter shells. Starry galaxy skies and Hawaiian quilt patterns. Most of my designs come from what I see on a walk around the North Shore, with a few wild ideas mixed in.
Each board gets a matte protective finish, or a glossy resin finish if you want it to shine.

Boards you can actually ride
I work with Northern Alliance Surfboards, a North Shore shaper with 20 years of proven boards. He shapes it, I paint it, and you end up with a board that surfs like the real thing and looks like nothing else in the lineup.
